So I built my computer yesterday with a Asus z170-a Motherboard and a Samsung evo ssd and a wd blue hdd. Today I installed the drivers from the asus website. The ssd already worked, but the hdd is not being detected. They both are in the BIOS and they are both in my device manager. I am running Windows 10 Pro 64bit. Some one please help me! Why is my HDD not showing up  in my file explorer.

You need to format the drive before you can use it shows up.

Right-Click on the My Computer icon either on your desktop or in the Start Menu and select Manage.

A new window titled Computer Management comes up.
Select Storage from the left hand side by clicking it once, then select Disk Management(local) from the right side by double-clicking it. Find your new drive and format it with one large partition.

First you partition - do a primary partition if you want only one partition on the hard drive. Then you format the partition - again right click and select format use NTSF - use default allocation size and give the new volume a label (no spaces allowed in the name).

Did you format the drive in drive manager? You need to do that.

Download the Disc Wizard Software here: http://www.seagate.com/files/www-content/support-content/downloads/discwizard/_shared/downloads/DiscWizardSetup-1605861.en.exe

Install and open it and then follow these steps:

1.Under Disk management click Add new disk

2.select your hdd and click Next

3.select Initialize disk in GPT layout and click next

4.click the disk that says Unallocated and then click Accept

5.click Next and then click Proceed

6.and then wait for the process to finish and you are done
