Help! How would I remove this!

Graphics card does not affect it because my  dad removed it and still nothing, i dont know if its even removable since my brother must have FORCED the stick of ram  under there.

I doubt that the ram could have been forced, as the clearance over the hold down mechanism is more than the clearance to the cooler, in the picture. It is more than likely that the ram was installed outside the case before the cooler was attached.

There is no way to remove the backing plate without dismounting the cooler from the other side, this can be held down by thumb screws, beneath the cooler.

If you have done the other things I mentioned and that does not change the predicament, you will likely need to remove the motherboard from the case next!

Hi, In 2014 my dad and my brother built a PC for me, and they bought a Artic Cooling Freezer i30 as the CPU cooler, but i need to change the fan because i keep getting CPU fan Error every time i boot my pc, and i cant remove the fan housing becuase there is a stick of memory wedged under there and now i can't remove the fan housing, and the screws to remove the whole cooler is under there!!

Any suggestions of how to remove that stick of memory from under there.

Wait, you can't remove the CPU cooler? Like, at all?

You can try using an elbow screwdriver/Allen wrench(I don't know what the screw type is) to remove them. However, a fan error doesn't mean the fan doesn't work - does the fan rotate at all?

If possible, try getting an elbow screwdriver to take them out.

No because the screws are stuck under the fan shroud!

I see. When you turn the PC on, does the CPU fan spin at all?

Do you think that i could try to remove that first stick of ram because there is a tiny bit of room, or would i just mess it up more?

I wouldn't risk damaging anything. That is a tight squeeze.

And you can't remove the fan from the CPU heatsink at all? It doesn't come off from the big metal heatsink?

It does but the first stick of ram is jammed under there, I didn't build it or put that heatsink on, it was my brother who did it.

Hmm. It sounds like the RAM is a bit too tall for the CPU cooler to fit on top of it, but your bro seems to have forced it on anyway and gotten it stuck. If you remove the GPU, can you access the screws then?

Wait, that FAN just snaps on mate.

<-snip_>

Remove the graphics card? and see if the fan CAN be removed

Also before you do make sure that the fan is plugged into the CPU header not any other fan header (if possible check that the CPU fan header is functioning using a known working fan too)

No because the fan shroud is too big

Graphics card does not affect it because my  dad removed it and still nothing, i dont know if its even removable since my brother must have FORCED the stick of ram  under there.
