getting it to 4ghz should be easy. Might be able to push to 4.5ghz if your lucky. As for voltage don't go any higher than 1.35v on the core. What cooler are you using?

Thats good, you wont have a problem with temps. if your staying with a 4.0 overclock i'd start your cpu off with 1.3v and stress test it and see if its stable. if your keen up your ghz to 4.5 and make your voltage 1.35 and see if thats stable.

You might be able to do it with out any voltage change, But every CPU is different.

So I'd try to run it at stock voltage at 4ghz and if it doesn't crash then sweet.

But if it does crash i'd suggest putting the voltage to 1.25v and decreasing it by .01v until the voltage is low with out crashes.

You could also even overclock it more if you have a good cooling solution, if you do that then i would cap the voltage at around 1.3 to 1.35 volts.

CPU: i5 6600k OCed to 4.5Ghz @ 1.35v, GPU: R9 390 Nitro, Motherboard: Asus z170-A, CPU Cooler: H100i GTX, RAM: HyperX 2x8 16gb DDR4, PSU: Seasonic x650, Storage: 850 EVO 500gb, WD 1tb blue, Case: H440 White/Black

Test for like 2+ hrs using aida 64. I have tested using intel xtu and I find it doesn't push the cpu as hard.
