As @TapfererToaster explained, you can use the WD DLG tool to write zeros on the whole drive.

The S.M.A.R.T. status certainly indicates that the drive has serious problems and I would definitely consider replacing it.

I have a ASUS x55c Ds31 Laptop with a 2.5HDD 500GB. I kept getting some strange BSODs so I ran Crystal DIsk Info. It says Caution, but the only thing highlighted is C5 Current Pending Sector Count Best: 83 Worst: 83. What does this mean, and how can I fix it?

My System:

Intel Core i5-4690k  / Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo Asus Z97-AR MSI Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 100me Corsair Vengeance LP 1600Mhz 2x4GB DDR3 Samsung 850 EVO 250GB / Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM HDD / NZXT S340 EVGA SuperNOVA G1 650W / Windows 10 Home 64 / AOC G2460PQU 1080p 144hz / Corsair VOID Wireless RGB Razer Taipan Laser Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2014

My Laptop (Asus X55C-DS31):

Could you share the image of Crystal Disk Info? The RAW values are what you care more about.

Hey there :)

As @scottyseng suggested, a screenshot of the raw values of what the tool reports would be quite useful as the values you are viewing are normalized and won't show you any specific info.

What's the drive's brand and model?

This means you have 608 unstable sectors reported by the application which is an indication that the drive possibly has big problems. I would strongly recommend to consider replacing the drive and creating a full backup of all the data inside as it may fail any moment. If those sectors are physical there isn't really a way to fix such issues and you would have to replace the drive.

Filling it with zeros might help if those are simply stuck sectors with no physical damage, but I doubt that. Have in mind that this procedure wipes clean the drive from any data on it so again a backup is strongly recommended.

How can I Fill it with zeros

First answer gives you a pretty good explanation on what it means and how to try and fix it.

In this case he is using " Western Digital's DataLifeguard" to write the zeros

Thank you @TapfererToaster, Would you recommend me try Filling the zeros or just buy an SSD? Will problems reoccur in the future if I fill in the zeros? Thanks
