right so i installed alphacool gpx waterblock on my beloved  sapphire r9290x vaporx card went by instructions to the letter temps jumped to 82 deg on core now no power nothing so tried linuses trick of baking gpu powers on get activity on lights for vrm but crashes straight away so is my card dead

are your power cables plugged in?

also, u just voided ur warranty.

if ur warranty was still valid, you could of just sent it in for rma.

now you cant

So the oven trick is only for fixing already dead GPUs and is extremely risky. You had a superficial temp problem that was probably just a bad thermal paste application, flow issue, or something along those lines.

 

I'm sorry, but it appears you bricked your own card by jumping to the "only ever do if the card is already dead and outside of RMA window" solution first.
