So a friends new build (it's been up for about 2 weeks now) is having some odd issues. Yesterday he turned it own and noticed that all his game played REALLY crappy like single digit frames even on Minecraft, though it worked just fine the night before. So we did some driver stuff to see if that work, nothing. Did a random sfc /scannow and it came up with errors it couldn't fix. We figured it we just reinstall Windows since he just keeps his OS on his SSD anyway, however as I was installing all his programs back and we hooked back up the HDD, it would start up, go into windows, and shut down. So we unhooked the HDD thinking that was it, nope still would do it. So we wiped the SSD again and did another install thinking it derped. Now we can't even get through set up. Could it be a bad installer or maybe a power issue? I don't see how it could be the SSD, it was working normally with no random drops in speed or high disk usage. Here is a link to his parts. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/BvJc3C

Try installing the OS on the HDD

Unfortunately that would delete everything on there and that's where all his music, photos, and documents are backed up to.

If it's Windows 10, I would redownload it. I had a bad ISO file somehow when clean installing my laptop and it would crash on the install. I downloaded Windows 10 again, and then it worked fine.

Also, try changing the SATA data cable. I had a defective SATA cable once and it drove me nuts trying to troubleshoot why Windows was so unstable / the SSD was so slow.

Oh okay.

Alright I'll download the ISO again though it worked just fine on his old computer we threw an SSD into as we made it into a plex server and it has no issues at all. I'll have him try a different sata cable.

Well a bit of an update. We removed the second R9 390, and boom it installed Windows just fine. We are thinking it might be a power issue so he's ordering a higher wattage and going to return the current one.
