I have a 3.0 usb. I am trying to install Windows 10 from it.

I have been getting some errors from it. First Windows 10 was not recognising it, saying there were errors or something like that.

Now when I boot from it via BIOS, there is a black screen with white text saying:

"A disk read error occurred

Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart"

It has only so far been happening from one particular usb port, I think. But when I take it out and put it back in and retry, it works fine.

What's wrong? Is it the USB itself or the USB port? I will see if it happens from any other USB port.

Could this also be the result of a broken motherboard?

Just now, kalious78 said:

probably nothing to do with your problem but win doesn't like installing from 3.0 usb ports.

Seriously?? How so???
I have had soooo many problems with installing Windows.

I have literally wasted a few weeks worth of time in the past year and a half dealing with these problems.

Are you trying to tell me all of that was simply because I was installing from a 3.0 port???

If it was just the one time thing any number of factors would cause it from dust or oil to a lost electron.
