Macbook Pro Slow when not connected to power

wolfslab

I have a Late 2011 Macbook Pro with a i5 and 4GB and its running 10.11.4 El Capitan. When i unplug it from the Magsafe charger it gets really laggy and slow. I have tried to look up guides on how to fix it, but they dont work in El Capitan.

Try looking in your power options. I feel like it's set to a battery saving mode which would downclock the running speed to save battery.

There is nothing about any battery saving mode

Are there any Apple Certified stores around you? Take it in and ask for help. Be sure to let them know there's nothing wrong, you just need help configuring the options. Don't let them take it from you to hold overnight, just have someone walk you through it right then and there.
