Hey guys, my friend has an aging late 2011 non retina MBP with the stock 500GB 5400rpm hard drive.  I noticed that her MacBook started to slow down a lot recently. i suspect the HDD is dying. She's not planning to buy a new laptop yet so I thought of upgrading the storage for her.

Should I get:

a) 500GB SSD

b) 1TB SSHD

c) 1TB traditional 7200rpm HDD

The SSD is a bit overkill for her needs but I just thought it would make the MacBook last bit longer & less prone to corruption due to drops and what not.

She also said that she stores all of her stuff in there and no other backup. Not even one. So I'll definitely getting her an external drive for time machine backups.
