So, i am busy trading my gaming PC for a gaming laptop.

The laptop offered was installed with windows 8 (maybe 8.1 not sure) and was upgraded to 10 later.

Now i loathe windows 8 and 10 respectively, so i want to install a clean copy of windows 7 on to it.

Now my question is, since it was pre-installed with windows 8, can i safely install windows 7 on it, without getting any major driver issues? (the i7 4720Q has windows 7 drivers, as does the Nvidia card - so that shouldn't be a problem)

If someone has experience in this field, that would be great :).

It should be okay. Windows 7 is still used a lot and drivers are plentyfull for it. What laptop model is it?

However, I recommend Windows 8.1 (or 10 but I am still using 8.1). Even if it is Windows 8, you can upgrade to 8.1 for free.

CPU: i5 4670k @ 3.4GHz + Corsair H100i      GPU: Gigabyte GTX 680 SOC (+215 Core|+162 Mem)     SSD: Kingston V300 240GB (OS)      Headset: Logitech G930

Case: Cosair Vengance C70 (white)                RAM: 16GB TeamGroup Elite Black DDR3 1600MHz       HDD: 1TB WD Blue                              Mouse: Logitech G602

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium                       PSUXFX Core Edition 750w                                                Motherboard: MSI Z97-G45               Keyboard: Logitech G510

I simply do not like windows 8, or 8.1 for that matter, it brings more bad than good to many programs i use as well.

i always disable windows update, since it brings more garbage than usefull stuff, only thing i update is the windows defender - so i won't be nagged by windows 10 :P

TBH, I would stick with using Win 10 because I stayed with using win 7 for ages after 10 came out. Then my drivers got all messed up so I eventually went straight for 10.

my pc works fine with windows 7, even with updated drivers, so it was probably your pc acting up.

What I'm saying is that my PC worked absolutely fine for about 6 months. After getting a new GPU, it messed up completely. So even if your laptop works fine now, it could go to town later in the game.
