I got my uncles old pc to start my journey to the promised land of gaming. Gtx 680, i3 3000 something k and a maximus V extreme edition. I bought a ssd and a hdd but when i try to add the hdd, the next time i turn on my pc it gets caught in a boot loop. Im on win 7 now but going to upgrade to 10. If someone could help me set up the two drive that would be great. Nothing on them, so they can be wiped if needed. I also did not get and cds, if that matters at all.can givemore info as needed. The ssd is set up with windows on it, hdd has just been intialized

Is the SSD already the boot OS drive for windows 7?

And is the HDD completely blank (new)?

I don't understand how they can both be blank or is it that the windows install is empty and you don't care about anything on it. If so then just format both drives in the windows 10 install tool by deleting all the partitions and then install windows 10 onto the SSD (without the HDD attached) and then attach the HDD later and format it to a data drive.

So it just keeps booting? Which drive is the OS on? Does the HDD have a copy still on it?

Just upgrade and try and plug the HDD in an USB enclosure first and see if you can format it there then try and move it into the system.
