Hey guys,

I have posted this problem before, and I thought the problem was solved, however it is not. The issue is that any time the ram usage goes above ~55%, I get a low memory warning from Windows 10 telling me to close programs, or else it will close programs automatically. This is very annoying, especially when video editing on things like After Effects, where the program just crashes. I have 16gb of DDR3 G SKILL ram. The full name of the ram is G.SKILL TridentX Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model F3-2133C9D-16GTX. It can be found here

I ran the memory diagnostics test about 4 times now (for each stick independently), and it said there were no problems found. What could the problem be from? Any ideas??

Thanks!

Your bios is up to date? Looking thru the cpu and mem support bios 2201 to support fx8350 seems fairly recent. v

Just out of curiosity. Does it crash without xmp? The suggested ramspeed may not be supported by the board as I only see 2400/1866 but no 2133 sets.

Bios is up to date (version 2201). Yes, the CPU is compatable with the board (I have an FX8350). The ram that I have is 2400.

What's xmp?

Ram overclocking to enable 2400mhz. They run at 1600mhz in stock without it.

It's listed as AMP on AMD boards, by the way, but same-same.

Let me overclock the ram and see what happens. Why would the ram be doing weird things on the stock speed?

The ram was already running at 2400mhz. I changed the AMP to auto. When I logged in, apparently for windows 10, "Auto" means 1333mhz. I opened multiple programs, chrome, AE, and steam, and the ram usage got to 70% with no annoying alert. But, when it got to 80% usage (still 3.5gb of ram available), there was a black screen, and AE crashed, and everything went screwy. Pretty annoying considering my chromebook can handle a situation like this better (now ofcourse, chrome OS is lighter, but still).

Agh, what a mess.

Any chance the problem is with the ram? or MB or CPU? Rather replace it now before the warranty runs out.

From quessing could be defective ram. Does it stay like this when you swap one out each time? Meaning boot with one stick, then try the other one.

I tried this yesterday. I used one stick, and each time (for each stick), when I opened google chrome (with 16 tabs), there was a black screen, then it crashed, and the second time, chrome was unresponsive.

But yesterday amp wasn't changed. Now it's a diffrent configuration, so redo. Could also try diffrent ram slots. Slot A1 - A3 instead A2 - A4 or what you have. Black slots instead the red ones.

One thing I noticed when I am using one ram stick is that when the computer is on idle, it's using 51% (4gb) of ram...pretty weird. Also, when i'm looking at the applications running, it doesn't add up to 4gb...more like 1gb. Could it be a virus? I have done a virus scan though and nothing came up (with Norton).

Edit: Just got the ram to 67% usage with no effort, and i'm getting the low ram warning. What the heck.

Now that's odd. It should be about ~1gb. Process explorer shows something? Additional run a full scan with malwarebytes. Need to go to settings -> detection and enable rootkit search first.

I'm running the scan and I got this:

"SDKDatabaseLOadDefaults failed with code: 1812

What does that mean? It's popped up 2 times so far. I'll try and rescan, but what does that mean?
