Hello! A friend of mine has been experiencing problems when playing games. His computer crashes after about 5-10 minutes. Sometimes the screen freezes for a while but most of the time it just shuts down. The temps are fine even though he is running the stock cooler. He tried switching PSU, Motherboard and reinstalling windows.

What do you think could be the problem?

Question, does the computer ever say anything about a Whea_Unctrollable, or something like that issue?  If it does that means the CPU is thermalthrottling, even if hw monitor or something reports otherwise.  It could be a driver issue too, or it could be the GPU.

He doesn't recognize Whea_Unctrollable so i don't think thats what it is.

Ask him if he gets his drivers off the disk, or downloads them from a site.  Also, ask if the card is Nvidia or AMD.  Nvidia has a few current drivers that are known to cause this.  If it is Nvidia tell him to uninstall the driver, and reinstall with the newest.  However, tell him to do the custom install over the standard.  The standard install is the one known for doing this.

He downloads the drivers himself. Told him to do that again yesterday actually. His specs: https://gyazo.com/84acd36957c200c598f8c950e0de111c . I'll get him to reinstall the gpu drivers.
