So on my R9 390 this is one of the plugs that came with the PSU and I'm still wondering if it is the proper choice of plug. I have extra cables that end in 6+2pin connectors, and have been wondering if i should be running two separate 6+2 pin cables and just leave off the extra 2pins on the right hand side power plug(the 6 pin power port). Or is this the exact type of cable for my type of GPU. I want to make sure that I'm not starving the GPU of power by running this cable, on that note though I've yet to run into a problem. Thanks in advance for any helpful tips...

those cables should work just fine without any power issues.

This should be fine for lower tdp gpus. If you decide to change it, be sure to check the manual. For example, the 295x2 has 500W tdp and it says in it's manual that you should run 2 separate cables to power it.

I've looked at the manual but it doesn't say anything, been thinking of calling MSI about this though.
