Hey there everyone, Im a newbie and do not have a lot of experience about choosing suitable parts according to my needs. I need a GPU to run minecraft at high fps even with the best of the best, most resource demanding texture packs and shader packs. Most people have been saying that the 980ti was too overkill and a waste of money. I also need the GPU to be good at rendering and 4k editing. Im gonna use the 6700k BTW.

The R9 390 will be a great GPU to go with. Unless you need NVIDIA features; then you'd want the GTX 970

I'd recommend the MSI Twin Frozr of either card

i7 4790k | MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition | G.Skill Ripjaws X 16 GB | Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB | 2x Seagate Barracuda 2TB | MSI GTX 970 Twin Frozr V | Fractal Design R4 | EVGA 650W

A gaming PC for your budget: $800 - $1000 - $1500 - $1800 - $2600 - $9001

980ti is a good choice honestly, i have it with a 4790k and at 32 chunks i only get like 70 fps, so with shaders, go for the 980ti IMO

Laptop: Thinkpad W520 i7 2720QM 24GB RAM 1920x1080 2x SSDs Main Rig: 4790k 12GB Hyperx Beast Zotac 980ti AMP! Fractal Define S (window) RM850 Noctua NH-D15 EVGA Z97 FTW with 3 1080P 144hz monitors from Asus Secondary: i5 6600K, R9 390 STRIX, 16GB DDR4, Acer Predator 144Hz 1440P

Ty, how about the R9 390X or R9 Fury X

Well, if you have the budget, honestly I'd say go with the 980 ti. If not, the 390x or Fury X will also be good (better than the 390 / 970)

Isn't Minecraft mainly CPU bound?

to a certain extent yes but also it uses alot of GPU when it has to render alot of chunks

Shaders certainly make it more GPU intensive.

A good GPU helps in any case.

Yes I wanna rush the SEUS Ultra Motion Blur. BTW I am on a Macbook air with Intel HD 5000 Graphics and even the "Lagless Shaders" ran at like 5fps. Remember, I wanna to 4k editing/rendering etc on my rig.

OMG that is really wallet digging. Wouldn't it be better (and cheaper) to get a 980ti or titan X BTW, i only have 1 PCIe slot - my build is gonna be a mITX one.

Don't use Ti and Titan X will eat your money.. then use one 980 and not Ti

if you got a 6700k, you want a 980Ti to do it justice.

If you are planning to do SLI/Crossfire, then dont bother.

Oh hi everyone, I just came back from a piano lesson. I also wanna ask recommendations for the actual product and cooling, like ASUS Strix series, or the ASUS Matrix Series or MSI TwinFrozr or Gigabyte wind force etc. Please share experience. Thanks for all
