Could this be improved

h_piper

I've put together this parts list http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/XLf4RB just wondering if it can be I'm proved. will the PSU be sufficient. is there a better keyboard and mouse that you can recommend for around £50. is the monitor a good choice. i can't afford to increase the budget much but if it would make a big difference an extra £50 is possible. I'll be buying it all from amazon as i have a voucher. Thank you.

Original post was:

Hi all, I want to build my first PC. I have done quite a lot of research but wanted to get the opinion of people who know far more than me. Thanks in advance.

1. Budget & Location

£1200-£1250 GBP for a complete build with monitor and peripherals. If increasing the budget allows me to dramatically increase performance i can by £50 but I would prefer not to.

2. Aim

I am at Uni doing engineering and this will be mainly be used for watching media, work and gaming although it will also be used for CAD (SolidEdge and Solidworks). Since i am at uni i am moving around a fair amount so a smaller form factor could be useful but not really that important. The games I will be mainly playing on it are GTA5, Fallout 4 and battlefield sort of games. I would like to do a slight overclock and i think 16Gb of ram would be useful. I also need a wireless card.

3. Monitors

I would like to have one larger monitor around 28'' as it would be useful for work and watching movies on. I would like it to be 1440p. All suggestions would be useful.

4. Peripherals

I currently don't have any peripherals so suggestions would be useful within budget. I will be requiring an OS as well but i hear you can get windows keys for around £20 so would do that probably.

Um ya, way better, overclocking generally isn't going to be worth paying extra for at this point

This includes a 4k IPS free-sync display, though 32"+ would be better for productivity, you can game at 1080p and it'll scale perfectly

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

That monitor looks really good and overall this looks like a much better value build! What's the powercolor graphics card like I haven't heard of that make and also with this case part picker says I'll have to remove the hard drive tray to fit it in? Thanks  a lot.

Still some room in the budget to spend a bit more on a case you like, that's just a decent value case
