depends on the switch imho, for topre id stick to landing pads instead of o-rings/dentalbands.

 

on cherry switches i hate the feel of o-rings and rather use these lol:

Going off my g710+ if you are putting in o-rings just get an older membrane keyboard.

If you're gonna buy em, then O-rings, cuz you can't make your own O-rings as easily as you can make your own landing pads out of various repurposed foam sheets. Go to Geekhack and search for diy landing pads.

Made mine out of some felt i had laying around,made the bottoming out sound a lot more bearable.

Don't think they are as quiet as if i used o-rings though. Nice compromise i guess.
