Good morning everyone, i am hoping some one can point me in the right direction.
Yesterday, i built a brand new system for my gf. After completing the build, installing windows 7 home premium 64 bit, installing the latest drivers from the manufactures websites, i began to have windows check for updates. I let the machine run for a few hours and came back to find that windows still hadn't located any updates. I tried to close the control panel window, however it did not respond. I then closed it through the task manager.  Restarted the system , began the process again and let it run over night. Hoping to see some progress this morning, but was met with the same result. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

Make sure that the date and time is set correctly because I know things do not work if they are out of sync with real world time. If not, I have used WSUS Offline Update. You could try to use this and do it manually.

CPU: i5 4670k @ 3.4GHz + Corsair H100i      GPU: Gigabyte GTX 680 SOC (+215 Core|+162 Mem)     SSD: Kingston V300 240GB (OS)      Headset: Logitech G930

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium                       PSUXFX Core Edition 750w                                                Motherboard: MSI Z97-G45               Keyboard: Logitech G510

I tried running WSUS Offline Update manually, and it did not seem to help.

I think i am going to acquire an ISO for windows 7 home premium, build a boot usb, and try a fresh install of windows with the key i have.

It's a legit key?

It's not a race to the bottom.
