so i replaced my dead ek pump/res combo with an ek pwm d5 pump and seporate res and i hear it speeding up and slowing down as the temps go up and down  is it safe that its doing that also is what i heard about leaving it at full speed dangerous and will kill the pump in a very short time?

idle its going about 30c and about 5-55c while playing games running ida64 stress test and depending on the game 40-51 thats with the pump in variable speed mode set to standard mode on fanxpert3 no difference in temps when set to turbo setting

cpu is 4790k and an 290x on one loop 360 thick rad not overclocked at the moment

It's designed to have variable control but if you just want to fix it at one set speed or lower it for noise, you can setup a flat fan curve or fixed RPM mode.

noise is only an minor issue because its sitting directly on the metal frame till i  get some foam sticky pads  but its negligable noise it was just realy quiet thats why i noticed it

i was just curious about its longevity as i no longer have any way to save any side money(till i get a better job) and buying replacement parts are extremely difficult now that  my secret only i know about stash lost its funding source

It shouldn't affect the longevity in any way, the units are designed to run at 100% with the rated MTBF.

It'll be fine, but I would personally just leave it running at a set RPM. I know the constant speed changes would drive me nuts just due to the sound.

If your motherboard supports an additional temperature sensor, you can also get a temperature probe for the coolant and have the pump respond to that. Pumps are generally set it and forget it units since increased flow don't affect temperature much past a certain point, hence why I would just leave it running at a single rpm.
