I am building a cheap test bench!

So basically, I need spec suggestions for a cheap test bench, the parts required are a motherboard, CPU, RAM (DDR3) and Fans also any other suggestions ARE welcome and appreciated.

I would like everything to add up to under £100 British pounds, I am creating my own wall mounted XBOX 360 internal frame to build the PC in so a case isn't required.

All help appreciated!

when building a test bench, you want to eliminate bottlenecks for the things you're testing. i.e. GPUs. So, spending 100 pounds on a test bench is probably not a good idea, because whatever you're testing will probably be held down by the other components.

That would be nice :P it will probably be more in the neighbourhood of £150, a spec list would be appreciated, I don't need a GPU or case, thanks for the help :)

You need about 10x the budget

For something that doesn't include a GPU, a case or even case fans?

Yes you need at least a 5820k with a decent motherboard, do that means DDR4 not DDR3. You will want at least 32 GB of RAM. Power supply has to be around 850 gold because you might test sli or xfire. Where do you reasonably expect to put the hardware? A box? You will need/want a proper test bench those are at least 80

In the main post, I state that I am re-purposing an XBox 360's internal case and mounting it to my wall, considering my budget is already so low, I doubt I will EVER be testing anything with SLI or crossfire unless it's two GTX 280s... I won't be testing EXTREME or BEAST components so I don't think 32GB of DDR4 is even worth the purchase if I'm testing SLI 280s :D

Old GPU's such as the GTX 280, all the way up to NEW-ish GPUs such as GTX 680s and everything inbetween :)
