Wont a 980ti be overkill for 1080p 60fps gaming?

Yeah, If you plan on upgrading for 1440/4K soon yes otherwise stick with the 980.

Hello, please evaluate and make comments on my chosen parts. Any help would be nice.(if you see compatibility issues or things that may be a problem in the future let me know) The idea is to play games maxed at 1080p 60fps

CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($325.98 @ DirectCanada)

Hopefully can support a superclocked 980 with no problems?? i7 6700k needed?

CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i GTX 70.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler  ($135.67 @ Amazon Canada)

Thermal Compound: Arctic Silver 5 High-Density Polysynthetic Silver 3.5g Thermal Paste  ($5.98 @ DirectCanada)

Motherboard: MSI Z170A GAMING M5 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard  ($229.98 @ NCIX)

6 x SATA 6Gb/s ports* (4 ports reserved for SATA Express port)
If someone could explain this, that would be nice. Does it mean I can only attach 2 drives? (the "will-buy" westerndigital and my already owned ssd)

The gaming M7 says 6 x SATA 6Gb/s ports .  Should I move up to the M7 if I wish to add more drives in future?

Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory  ($83.88 @ DirectCanada)

Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($90.35 @ Vuugo)

i would like 2tb drive to start. If this brand/type is reliable enough then thats good..if not... please tell me

SSD: I have a samsung 850 evo 1tb already, I plan to attach it with this build

Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 980 4GB Superclocked ACX 2.0 Video Card  ($698.98 @ Amazon Canada)

Case: Fractal Design Define R4 w/Window (Black Pearl) ATX Mid Tower Case  ($149.99 @ NCIX)

Power Supply: EVGA 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply  ($119.99 @ NCIX)

Enough for support cpu and gpu overclocking?

Wireless Network Adapter: Gigabyte GC-WB867D-I 802.11a/b/g/n/ac PCI-Express x1 Wi-Fi Adapter  ($42.00 @ shopRBC)

Case Fan: BitFenix BFF-LPRO-12025R-RP 56.2 CFM 120mm  Fan  ($14.03 @ DirectCanada) - I will buy 2 to replace default fans which comes with the h100i gtx

Keyboard: Thermaltake CHALLENGER PRIME Wired Gaming Keyboard  ($31.96 @ shopRBC)

I just picked anything random here, I dont know whats any good for this category

Total: $1928.79 approx

Budget: $1950-2000 pretax/shipping

Might be helpful if you tell us what's your budget and at what refresh rate(60 or 144hz) you gonna be playing your games.

You could save up a little by getting a still decent air cooler and a cheaper board like the Z170-A and you would be able to afford a 980ti or a R9 Fury (non-X)

For 1080p 60fps, this build is a little too much. This is my 1080p gaming build recommendation: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/FX6NXL

The problem is that this is an nVidia product and scoring any nVidia product a "zero" is also highly predictive of the number of nVidia products the reviewer will receive for review in the future.

Only yours, you don't shitpost on the same level that we can, mainly because this thread is finally dead and should be locked.

I wasn't wrong. It's extremely rare that I am. I provided sources as well. Different devs can disagree. Further, we now have confirmed discrepancy from Twitter about he use of the pre-release 1080 driver in AMD's demo despite the release 1080 driver having been out a week prior.

You apparently haven't seen his responses to questions on YouTube. He is very condescending and aggressive in his comments with which there is little justification. He acts totally different in his videos. I don't necessarily care for this content style and there is nothing really unique about him or his channel. His endless dick jokes and toilet humor are annoying as well.
