    Hello, I found some really cheap RAM but the guy that sells them says that they only work on AMD platforms. Is this actually true?

Here's a picture of them :    Is there any reason why they shouldn't work with an E8400 on an ASUS P5Q ?

Spoiler

EDIT : I asked him why and he replied: " They are high density memories and Intel  doesn't support them".

And if the seller is really selling this Kingston DDR2 RAM, it's compatible with your motherboard, don't know why he would say it's not compatible with Intel ...

@wkdpaul

  Yea, I checked the kingston site too and i saw that, I told him about that as well but he still claims that they only work with AMD-based mobos , and yes, the RAM in the picture is the RAM he is selling.

P.S: Sorry for posting in the wrong section, I was in a bit of a rush.

Just buy it, all ram is compatible with all cpu's. It's for the marketing.  Don't listen to the 'AMD/Intel only'   bullshit

Not all RAM is compatible with everything : ECC memory, some motherboards will not support it.

But that's not the case here. So yeah, OP should just buy it, it'll be fine.
