A case and a PSU for $28? No, no, no.

I like the color scheme of Noctua fans. Deal with it. Forget about the bad memories of the past.

I doubt the psu that comes with the case is decent.

If you are looking for an inexpensive power supply, get the CX430 Bronze.

Avoid junk from Diablotek.

Generally, unless there's a sale and/or rebate going on, PSUs that are under $40 are usually poor passive / non PFC units that can't deliver it label wattage safely to your components, as well as they are a fire hazard.

For example, this 350w unit failed at around 260w while hitting up to 3V in ripples. Due note, that ATX specs states that ripples on the 12v rail cannot exceed 120mV or 0.120V. http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story2&reid=123

There's also this power supply that went out of specs at 99w, despite being rated at "600w". To make it worse, it continued to stay on at 200~270w load http://www.jonnyguru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6714

While I'm quite picky with my PSUs as some would see on this section of the forum, but you really want to invest in a little more on this PSU.

The Corsair CX430v3 is $40 shipped but has a MIR for $20 which can effectively make it a $20 PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139026

I'll let someone else help you with the case.

Edit: something like this maybe? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119274

$39.99 after promo. $29.99 after MIR.

You have a laptop....what makes you the RAM expert?

The Corsair RM line is the new mid-range unit for PSUs. He wasn't talking about RAM.

I'd avoid the EVGA 500B 500W power supply if you have other options. Have a look at some of the reviews on this unit...

http://www.legitreviews.com/evga-500b-500w-power-supply-review_122110

http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story&reid=351

- The OEM for this PSU is Heroichi (AKA HEC)

- Build quality isn't great

- Components used inside the PSU is only mediocre

- Efficiency is well within the 80 PLUS Bronze rating, BUT the voltage ripple is pretty friggin' high (unstable voltage; especially the +12v rail)

In another of your threads, you say you want a new case with a power supply included...because you are not sure if a separate power supply will fit correctly.

There are standards in the PC world that manufacturers MUST follow - for an example, the ATX specifications. As long as both the case AND power supply are specified as ATX format, they will work regardless.

If you get an ATX case and an ITX power supply...well of course, they will not work together.

I don't know how much you are willing to spend, but...Have a look at these:

If you had my CPU, you would need more wattage than your entire house consumes.
