Dell PWS 690 Ram Problems

So the system has 4x1gb of ram in it already. I got two new sticks of 2x2gb. I am having problems getting all 8gb to work. It has 8 slots but the configuration is wonky. It doesn't alternate color, its does 4 white then 4 black not black white black white. The most i've gotten is 6 gigs.
