I've been monitoring the news cycle regarding the announcement of the P9. Interested in the P9 Max (Yes, I want a yuge phone. Something 5.5 inches or bigger. I read a lot of PDFs).

What I wanted to know was what the learned elders of the ltt forums think about Huawei as a company. Have they been pretty good or bad with providing droid updates? How's their customer service?

Basically it all depends on where you are and concidering its the flagship phone for huawei it wont be cheap.

but overall from my perspective, huawei phones are good for the price you pay (unlike samsung or apple)

If you are willing to spend the money on it then yeah the p9 max will be a marketplace topper phone. (even i wish i could have that phone)

I suck a typing, preparw for typos.

I'm in the Philippines and yes, it is money I am willing to spend.

then yes when it is released the Huawei P9 max is a great phone and is worth the money spent on it (rumored to have 6 gb of ram, more than my laptop)

more recently my mom got huawei phone with a backup cell service, idk what phone it was, most likely a lower end one,but it had werid issues like blue screening(yes on the phone)

Idk about their customer service tho

Huawei is pretty bad when it comes to Software Updates. Most still didnt got their 6.0 update.

However: They seem to be getting better and better, compared to the last few Years.

Huawei is the 2nd biggest Android smartphone Manufacturer, only beaten by Samsung obviously. Nothing wrong with Huawei. They have one of the best fingerprint sensors on the Market, often a very very good build quality.

Just sometimes on their Kirin SOCs, the CPU performance is often slightly less compared to similar priced Androids, and GPU Performance is also often just mediocre.

See the Kirin 950. CPU performance is really good (based on A72 Cores, like SD 820, or Exynos 8890).

But the GPU is the MP4 version (which means, 4 Shader Cluster), the Exynos 8890 (same Architecture generation) has the exact same GPU, but as MP12 version (12 Shader cluster).

If you are a "Gamer", you might look elsewhere. Otherwise, Huawei (and Honor) built pretty nice phones.
