Screen tearing

Tyler2599

Just got an ASUS PB258Q a 25 inch 2560x1440 monitor. I'm getting a good amount of screen tearing in cut scenes of games and just some in general while I'm playing. I saw some places say turn on adaptive sync so I did and I'm still getting the same results. I also have tried Vsync on and off in games and doesnt make a difference. I just need to know if its on my end or the monitors end so I know whether or not its a defect.

Make sure you're running in full screen.

It's weird that V-Sync doesn't fix it, as it should always.

did you set your refresh rate in the nvidia control panel to be your panel's refresh rate?

How noticeable is it, and how often does it happen?

A little bit of an update rocket league it seems to be fixed in. Earlier it was running at 1080p on a 1440p monitor cause the game wouldnt let me change the resolution it just did and seems to be fine but that wasnt my main issue. FarCry Primal is the game that it does it in the most and maybe the only game it does it in I just got this monitor a couple of days ago and wanted to try out a new title on it. I would say it happens every 3 minutes or so and it just depends in the cut scene it was bad enough cause it cut in like 4 different places. I could deal with it but I was hoping there was a fix

is there a setting in the monitor's control panel to reset to factory specs? and in the control panel is there a separate setting for refresh rate?
