quad channel ram on dual channel motherboard

as the title sugest, im running a quad ram kit of 16G from kingston on my motherboard asus p8z77-V LX.

 

the think is, my computer freezes and i think it can be some problem whit my ram, but is it that im running quad on dual suport or could it be corupted ram?

had this setup for 3 yers and the problem only started to show a few months ago, both in win7 and when updated to win10

 

the freezes are hapening both when the computer is under load and idle so i dont think its a stres problem

 

plz im despret for an anser will test myself anyway but anny and all fedback will be a big help.

It should be fine, since your motherboard does not allow quad channel, the ram will auto set to dual channel. Quad channel kits are special because they are specifically validated for quad channel operation. If you can you should do a fresh install and then upgrade to 10

ty for the quic reply, and before upgrading to win10 i acualy did a fresh install of my win7 so software problems can be ruled out.

 

i will go thrue my hardware to hopfully find whats causing the freezes
