Hdd Led not working

My HDD led does seem to work where ever I plug it in any suggestions?

Check to make sure your not reversing the polarity on the LED connections and hooked up to the correct pins.

 

Just in case to test if it's brunt out is to take a 3V watch battery and put it across the LED to see if it's working.

It's best to refer the to manual for the exact pins and which one is positive or negative but it should be HDD LED or HDD light and is part of the front panel IO connections.

It should say on the connectors and the motherboard. If there's no writing but a little triangle on the connector, that means that side is positive.

i had the nigitive  side in the positive so it was fliped

Err, yeah. It's an internal USB3 header. It's a big, ugly connector, but that's true for all USB3 headers. Why d'ya ask, is it not working?

ohhh, looks like the bottom of the housing got broken off of the USB 3.0 port it won't affect anything and still work however, good to hear you got the HDD LED working.

i just cant seem to plug it back in after i unpluged it

Just break off that broken piece and plug it in, it won't affect anything as the connector will still be keyed and work.

Just plug it in, it can be a fairly stiff connector and the pins will easily hold it in, even with the bottom broken (which I hadn't noticed, sorry).

The pins look fine you just need to make sure you put it in the correct orientation it can only go in one way.

Looking closer 2 pins are bent... I can't send it back over a year later

Oh ok I see, you can try using a pair of tweeter to gently push it back inline, after that should work without any problems.

Ok if I get x99 will my case connector still work?
