Im helping my friend buy parts and build a $700 gaming pc and i wanted your guys advice we are looking to go for an Intel Cpu and Nvidia GPU preferably

cpu g3258,gpu gtx 970, any motherboard that will support the lga 1150 sockettype, for storage you can go 256gb ssd, 128gb ssd + 1tb hdd, or just a 1tb hdd, your choice depending on budget, for a case, this is mostly preference so just go on pcpartpicker and filter through some of them, for a budget case I can recommend the source 210, anything by fractal design or corsair, and if you want to spend a bit more on the case, I LOVE the define R4, for a PSU pick a psu that is above 500w, at least 80+ bronze, and not from a manufacturer like diablotek.  I would stick with corsair, thermaltake, evga, and coolermaster for psus.  I hope this helped, let me know if you have any other questions

I can help with programming and hardware.

Are you high? Lol.

a G3258 and 970 is literally the worst combo ever. You can definitely fit an i3 and 960 4GB or maybe even a 970

If its for gaming, the gpu is more important. Go 970, and try to get the best CPU you can.

MSI GE72 Apache Pro-242 - (5700HQ : 970M : 16gb RAM : 17.3" : Win10 : 1TB HDD : Razer Anansi : Some mouse) - hooked up to a 34UM58-P (WFHD) in dual screen

iPad Air 2 (for school)

iPhone 6

Xbox One Forza 6 Limited Edition Blue

whats wrong with a 3258 and a 970, he said he is using this for gaming.  sure you could fit in an i3 and drop the gpu down to a 960 but there will be no gains in his gaming performance, in fact, he will lose performance.  Sure, if he has skype chrome and a music player open, he will see a performance dip in game, but with a 700$ budget, you will get the most performance out of the 3258 and the 970 if you are conscious about your cpu usage.

Here. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/DMJnRB

If you want to save some money, get an r9 380. I know you said you want to go nvidia, but you might just have to suck it up.

This is also a very good build (arguably better than mine I posted a short while ago), great job on it.

Although in the future, just a small thing, I'd suggest using something like PCpartpicker. There's a feature to make only amazon (or other shopping places) prices show up (I forgot how to do it lol, but I know its there)

your build is very good for a normal pc, because of the I5 and TB drive, but in game 970 is a lot better.

i will use pcparticker next tipe
