This will be the setup:

Gtx 950 - Might oc the smallest bit.

Core 2 quad q6600 - No ov

4 Sticks of ddr2

2  fans

3hdds

Some breathing room for oc, more fans ect.

How big should my psu be?

Thanks :D

I am NOT going to answer your exact question. Instead I would like to give you some advice. When you CAN futureproof something, you should.

A PSU is something you can keep over the course of several upgrade cycles, therefore get something of high quality and decent wattage.

I would recommend at least 500W, and at least 80+ Bronze AND a reputable brand. If you need suggestions, we will gladly provide some.

500W will give you enough wattage for almost any up-to-date, reasonable CPU+GPU combination (unless we are talking dual-GPUs).

PC: AMD Ryzen 7 7700 || Noctua NH-U12S SE2 || 32GB DDR5 6000 CL32  ||
|| Powercolor RX 9070 Reaper || Asus B650E-I
  || WD 850X 2TB ||  Corsair SF600 || Intertech IM 1 |||
Peripherals: Sennheiser PC  360 G4ME || AOC CQ27G2U || Viewsonic PX701HD || Keychron V1 || Logitech G303 Shroud Edition||| Laptop: XPS 13 2in1 7390 || Steam Deck 256 GB (64GB Version) ||| Cameras: Fujifilm XH-1 || Fujifilm X100T

Just this one.

Lol, JK. 500W is enough, but if you know that you are planning on upgrading in the future to more powerful hardware and you have the money available now you could just get a bigger one for the future.

You will be able to SLI on 600W, I've done that with GTX 660s though, I imagine you'd only do it in the future, without the Q6600

For the Best builds and Price lists here is a world where many points of the price have been predefined already for your convenience!

The Xeon E3 1231 V3 IS BETTER Than the Core i5 4690K and a Significantly better value for the non-overclockers or value shoppers.

The OS is like a kind food, Try it before saying if you like it or don't.

Power supply calculator site

That page says that my system would use 500w under load( 4790k and 970) and I can't even break 330

itll factor in all things plugged into the pc ,, not just the pc  itself ,,, you add in  backlit keyboards  powered DAC  from USB , allot of fans, etc. The wattage estimate is basically saying  youll be safe using this amount. it  wants to be generous  because   you run a power supply at its rated watts that power supply  loses its efficency , plus lifespan ,,,,, I run a pc not breaking 120 watts and I run a 430watt power supply in it lol.

And? My power supply registers the power consumption of EVERYTHING connected to the pc, just 330 watts when it says that i should be consuming 500w, those calculators are not reliable at all
