So I'm building a new PC but can't decide on a CPU for the build. It will be mainly used as a gaming PC but I plan on doing some light game streaming and video editing aswell, but nothing major.

The current CPU's I'm considering are the

I5 4690k

I7 4790k

i5 6500

i5 6600k

More games are suggesting i7s so the i7 seems like a batter choice, plus the Z97 mobos are cheaper than the Z170 ones. However, it is a older model are is also a little more expencive, so can it be justified. Or should I go with a newer Skylake CPU.

Also, I am planning to upgrade to the new Pascal or Polaris graphics cards when they release so it will have to work with them.

Any thoughts or suggestions about what I should get?

Any help appreciated.

For Gaming a 4690K would work great with and you could overclock to get the most out of it...

Although for streaming I would suggest the I7 4790K if you intend to stream large games such as

Witcher 3, Fallout 4.. ETC Of course if you are just looking to stream CSGO/League/Dota. The 4690K will prove sufficient.

From there the choice is yours!

do you currently have DDR3 RAM? If so, go for the 4790k.

and I see you didn't suggest an i7 6700k, so go for the 4790k since you want to be video editing and streamking.

"Sulit" (adj.) something that is worth it

i7 8700K 4.8Ghz delidded / Corsair H100i V2 / Asus Strix Z370-F / G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16GB 3200 / EVGA GTX 1080Ti FTW3 / ASUS ROG SWIFT PG279Q

Samsung 850 EVO 500GB & 250GB - Crucial MX300 M.2 525GB / Fractal Design Define S / Corsair K70 MX Reds / Logitech G502 / Beyerdynamic DT770 250Ohm

SMSL SD793II AMP/DAC - Schiit Magni 3 / PCPP

Personally, I'd go with the 4790k. DDR3 RAM is still cheaper to come by, right? In fact, I even hear the Xeon E3-1231V3 is nearly as powerful as the i7, but at $100 cheaper. There are drawbacks, though: it can't be overclocked, and it doesn't have any onboard graphics.
