well i have 5GB ram installed but only 3.24GB usable and i'm wondering what wrong

Windows uses up to 20% of your ram so it can run Windows. The newer your operating system the more it will use. My laptop has 4GB of ram but only 3.33GB is avalible

so what your saying is that there is nothing wrong with my computer its just used up by the 20% to run windows

Basically. Even the most barebone install of a Windows machine uses at least some RAM just to keep it running. For example, I'm on Windows 10 Pro x64 with what I would consider a minimal startup config, and idling I'm using about 2.5GB of my 16GB total just to sit there. Windows has to have something to keep its basic stuff up and running, so no there isn't anything wrong with your system. Though 5GB is an odd number (no pun intended) to have installed.

How much total RAM does it show in task manager? Do you have 32 or 64 bit Windows? 32 bit only allows you to use 3.5 GB.
