Hello all,

I recently posted about this and got a lot of help, but I have found spare cash and decided to change my budget for more variety.

1. Budget & Location

My budget is around the $900 and quite possibly low $1000 but would love to stay out of it, and my currency is $USD

2. Aim

The aim of this build is editing videos and somewhat light gaming, I love to play smaller games like Cs Go but I would still love to get smooth playable fps on games like fallout 4. As well as possibly streaming.

3. Monitors

I will most likely be using one of my tv's that connect  through hdmi, or a low end monitor I find around the house

4. Peripherals

I will be needing an OS preferably Windows 10, and also a wireless network adapter because I am not in a position to go wired atm. Although I have had word of a motherboard with built in wifi so that can be an option.

5. Why are you upgrading?

I am upgrading because my laptop is just not cutting it anymore and I believe it is long over due an upgrade

6. Things to note

First off I know it going wireless is bad for streaming... no need to remind me xD. Also, please leave notes with your pc part picker list that explains why you choosed the parts and why they would work well with the build! Thanks! :) I like the intel i7 so if you can fit that in the build that would be awesome, and maybe a cool case would be nice.

In my honest opinion I think you should check out "http://www.logicalincrements.com/" Logical Increments because they have a detailed hyperlink graph that helps you compare different hardware for the price range, and has a range of "minimum" to "extremist" abilities.

I recommend go for:

i5 66k (apparently in amazon there is a same for only 250)

Nvdia 760-780 or 960-980 series

MSI 970 gaming motherboard (or anything that has 4 ram slots + other bonus to feed your need)

or//

i5 4690k (if you're gonna go i5 then go all out)

AMD 280/290/290x/380/390

If you are budgeting for 900-1200 and you properly choose what you want, you are getting a good bang for your buck.

Build under 900 USD : Non OC build , if you are stick in a budget

CPU : Xeon (L3 cache : 8M ):

 1) 4 cores 8 threads ( means it has hyper threading feature)  : HT will help you in video rendering

 2) stock speed : 3.3 GHz  & Turbo boost : 3.7 GHz : It will help you in single task work

 3) Less price than non-k i7

Mother board : ASRock H97M PRO4

  1) H97 chip set because you can't O.C xeon like K series CPU

  2) Motherboard doesn't increase PC performance, it only gives features to add something like no PCI e slots, Ram slot, max RAM speed it support etc.

RAM : G-skill Ripjaws X : 2x8 Gb = 16 Gb : to take advantage of dual Chanel , i am going with 2x

Storage : Kingston 120Gb SSD + 1TB HDD

 1) SSD for fast boot, read, write speed. It will increase the loading time of heavy software

 2) Kingston SV300 is a budget SSD. Reason to choose is to fit your budget but it will give you 10x performance over 7200 RPM HDD

 3) 1TB HDD to store data like your edited video

GPU : GTX 960/ R9 380 :

1) They are known as best budget GPU in terms of price per performance :

2) Good for 1080P medium setting

PSU : Crosair 80+ Bronze

Build for 1350USD :  OC Build : If you are not in budget

CPU : i7 5820K ( 8M L3 Cache)

 1) 6 cores 12 Threads : 6 core will give you much better performance over 4 cores in video editing and HT will improve performance of 6 core by 20% more in video editing.

2) Stock Speed : 3.3GHz Turbo Boost : 3.6GHz : It will increase your CPU performance in the task which use 1-2 cores.

3) OC supported

Motherboard : Gigabyte GA-X99 SLI

1) 8 Ram slot and support 128 Gb of RAM, best option for content creation

2) 4 way SLI and crossfire ( but in case of SLI CPU will hold you back because it has only 28 PCI-e lanes support that means your max SLI config is 3x PCI-e 8 )

Ram : Crosair vengeance 4x 4Gb = 16Gb : to take advantage of quad channel

Storage : 250Gb Samsung 850 evo + 2TB HDD

1) 850 evo is one of the best SATA SSD available in the market with good life span

2) 2TB HDD is enough to store video, documents, movies etc.

GPU : R9 390/GTX 970 : Best option to play AAA titles at 1080p
