i installed windows 10 on my HDD and installed windows 8.1 on my m.2 ssd.  i wana uninstall my copy of windows 10 on my HDD without removing the other files.  how do i do that?

If the other files you're referring to are on a separate partition on the HDD, you can use DISKPART to remove the Windows partition and other no longer needed partitions (e.g. a recovery partition) and be left with your data partition. If the files you're referring to are on the same partition, you'll need to back them up first, then format the HDD, create a new partition on the HDD, and move them back.
