So here is the pump res combo that i got:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B011A7FRS6?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s01

I am running this loop for only the graphics cards for the time being. I have two GTX 970's with the EK water blocks, and a 360mm radiator. For some reason when i bridge the 24 pin and turn the pump on, it goes straight to 100% and i have actually burned out My RM1000 and had to get another one. now i have the new one and it still does the 100% on power up. and when i was confident that my loop didn't have any leaks i plugged everything up and tried to boot, and nothing. the power supply makes a short click when i press the power button and that's it... I don't think that 1000W is too small for my system but i could be wrong. if anyone has any advice or suggestions, please help a bortha out. I have this very expensive setup and it shouldn't just be sitting here useless.

Welcome to the Forums!

That unit looks be a PWM based unit as it has a 12V sata supply and a 2 pin being the RPM and PWM line for controlling the pump. As for the issue with the RM unit what occurred the first time when it powered up?

Thank you!

You are correct about the pump, sata power and a four pin connector but only two pins are populated. with the new PSU in hand when i have the 24 pin shorted to power on, the pump will kick in and then go as hard as it can. I can only turn it on for split second or the power supply will make a hissing sound.

What happens if you are to disconnect everything and just have the PSU powered up using the paperclip method to short out the power line. If your just filling your loop it could be air or building up pressure?

that is what happens, with all the liquid in the system, the pump only has one speed and it's 100% lol and if that goes for longer then a split second, my PSU makes a hissing sound like a capacitor is about to explode.

Yes but what happens with the PSU alone by itself powered on does it make that noise or have that issue?

I would try and test the pump with another PSU to see if that is the problem, it's odd why that would occur.

well this is the second PSU it has done this with. the first PSU got burned up from it. i will try and turn on the psu by its self to see if there is a difference and get back to you.
