Hey guys, I've got a i5 2320 and im wanting to plan a build around that. PC Part picker is not showing to many options for mother boards with 1155 sockets and i was just wondering if anyone would sugest one. I dont HAVE to over clock but it would be nice, i can only go to 3.5 ghz anyways. I need ddr3 ram onboard 3.0s and wanting to go under $100. Doesnt matter if its ugly.

getting a board and even DDR3 RAM under $100 will be quite hard with taxes/shipping

1. the 2320 has a locked multiplier so you can't OC it unless you like BLK overclocks :D

2. if you want USB 3.0 with a sandy bridge cpu, you need a motherboard which added a chip for USB 3.0

3. the I5 2320 is a great chip, I personally have a 2300 in my secondary/back-up/LAN/server PC and it performs very closely to my i5 3570k :D

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

It has a turbo clock of 3.3ghz and any specific requirements except for USB 3.0 for the motherboard?

oh forgot to say, i was wanting to go with an ATX mobo because i plan on getting a higher end GPU and most of the cost effective ones are pretty large but ill have to do a little research to see if theyll fit

i5 2320 is a non-K CPU so won't be able to OC at all.

I wouldn't go above maybe a 970 at best, you might get some bottlenecking from your CPU at that point

ATX 1155 motherboards are $100 at least by the way...

As long as it has a PCI-E 16x slot then it would work completely fine :D

You need H67, not Z67

As long it's a h6x/7x chipset then it's fine :D

Ah fair enough, it's probably going to be harder to find a nice and cheap atx mobo thou :P

Im not to experienced with building, i finaly saved some money up. All i know right now is what ive seen in videos, and from what ive learned from doing papers for school

H - no OCing
B - business class
Z - OC-capable boards

Quick question, isn't a h61 mobo fine for his need? although they don't have SATA 3...(there are plenty of mobos with USB 3 and Pci-e gen 3 that uses the h61 chipset :P)

SATA 2 is not good for SSds though

i dont plan on getting a SSD, would be a nice option though. Couldnt i just use a M2 or pci express port for one

Those use NVMe which doesn't exist with Sandy Bridge I believe.
