So guys, i just got my kingston hyperX cloud. I immediately tried it, but i was disappointed.

the sound quality on the unit i got is so bad, it sounds like a not properly plugged headphone. The sounds it produced is piercing my ears and there's no bass at all.

i was dissapointed at first, but after a quick 5 mins research. Some say it's because my motherboard might not giving my headphone enough juice to support the 53mm drivers. I tried it on my phone and got the same results.

so did i get a bad unit from kingston or my cloud need more juice from amps and etc?

The size of a driver does not have anything to do with how hard they are to drive. What motherboard do you have? Where do you plug the jack in?

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

My main Headphones and IEMs:  K612 pro, HD 25 and Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor, HD 580 with HD 600 grills

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

Laptop: ThinkPad P50: i7 6820HQ, M2000M. ThinkPad T420s: i7 2640M, NVS 4200M

Oh you are on a laptop. When headphones or headsets doesn't get enough power they sound muddy not loose bass, so I dont think that a amp would do anything. I dont know how they are supposed to sound, maybe try them on a friends pc that has a good motherboard or a dedicated amp and see if the sound changes.

Hmm, idk what muddy sound sounds like. My cloud just sounds like a cheap 2$ earphone made from china (no offense), when i tried cranking up the volume to 100%. Idk how to describe it but it sounds the highs is piercing my ear and there's no bass at all. Even a 15$ phillips sounds a whole lot better than this, if the sound quality is really this bad i dont think it would've won any awards..... *the mic works awesome.

Muddy sound= no detail. Bass is not tight at all, it is a loose at it can be.

Good idea, but if they sound bad on them all you can just trade them in again most places gives you 7-14 days.

but, if it sounds great on other PCs. what should i do and what should i get ? i usually play with my laptop at home

I would say that you should look at a external sound card not an amp and dac , just to make sure they mic is fine.

well a sound card has a mic input while an amp and dac are for headphones and speakers only. A soundcard has a dac and amp in it.

Edit

a sound card is usually not as good as a dac and amp combo that costs the same.

Update : my seller just received my headphone back, he said there was no problem with it. the bass is great and the sound is great. maybe my motherboard just sux xD, so now the only solution is getting an external sound card. i can't spend much money on buying a soundcard, can u recommend me a low end soundcard but enough to power this baby ?
