Im looking for a light laptop that I can bring with me everywhere. The main uses will be coding/ general browsing, however I will use it for writing from time to time so it should have a reasonably good keyboard. It will also be brought on travels so a long lasting battery would be awesome. I am currently looking at the smallest macbook.

Try out the XPS 13. It's really not designed for gaming in mind, but is great for what you said you wanted to do.

The MacBook air is a perfect laptop on the go. 12 hour battery, slim profile, reasonably powerful, and looks amazing.

Macbook thermal throttles, and doesn't run Windows.

OSX is amazing at just working, and thats exactly what i want this to do. Theres almost never problems with it, and if something comes up Apple support are amazing(atleast in Norway). the thermal throttling won't really be a problems since this is a light workload laptop anyway

The xps 13 is a good option. I would also recommend you look at the macbook air or a thinkpad carbon. If you are planning on doing lots of typing the thinkpad is probably your best option as lenovo is known for the keyboards on their higher end laptops.

the carbon looks like a really good laptop, but the battery time is just kinda meh compared to the other two.

The xps and macbook are the gold standards for battery life though the almost 8 hours of the carbon isn't bad.
