So im using a Reference 980 TI from EVGA, its great and all but i cant seem to push it past 115Mhz on the overclock and keep it stable eaven tho at 145 Mhz it did fine in Valley for a bit over an hour but when i play Rise of the tomb raider for an hour or less it useally crashes, am i doing something wrong? I have 0+ mv, 110% power limit, 115+ on core clock and 200+ on memory clock atm (too keep it stable for longer in RotTR, havent tested it yet in other games) but i have seen people push theirs up to 210+ mhz on the core and 300+ on the mem clock...have i just lost the sillicone lottery? or is there something else im forgetting?

you can try raising the core voltage, if an overclock is unstable you might wanna check the temp, power, and volt limit, and eliminate the limit by raising the bar

and also, being stable in valley doesnt mean it will be in games, different workload will have different consequences on your card

if all else fails, you just got a mild overclocker :D but dont feel bad, the 980ti still stomps over 95~99% of the gaming community anyways lol

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

well yeah, i have tried adding more mV, but didnt really see any diffrence, but i left it at 0 mV because most people didnt really need to add voltage to it at all, which was great to not hassle with =)

well you can check if adding voltage raised the actual voltage, coz my card's voltage doesnt rise even though i pushed the slider to the max

Max voltage and power sliders and keep temps under 80*C

Pushed the slider to max, 91C

it overheated that's your issue, Max temp for Maxwell is 85*C

Still havent hit 85C on my card, peaked at 83C once or twice

high temps = more chance of instability.

ill try increasing the fanspeed to max and see if it improves, maybe find a way to get more air into the case

Don't bother. 980 Ti is powerful enough as it is. Drop the OC altogether so as to increase the lifespan of the card. Nvidia reference cards simply run too hot for OCing
