So im planning a build for a friend to be able to run Fallout 4. The only thing he has is a HDD. His budget is $400 (with OS), set in stone. I'm in california, US.

do you need storage?

I have an Anet A8 as my project printer and a i3 MK3 for when I want things to work. 

 

I extrude my own filament and haven't saved a penny yet.

Ok honestly this is the only thing i can think to do (add a faster stick of ram) and even that isn't necessary you did a good job choosing the build kudos to you :)

Not if you buy from someone reputable seller. To save money, get a Windows 7 product key and then upgrade for free to Windows 10!

Possibly, if you're trying to save money that way just pirate windows, better off than buying a grey market key

 

otherwise, if you do end up with windows for "free" should upgrade the GPU to a 380

or get the skylake build above with the i3 and 950
