Now in what can only be seen as a response to Snapchat's Looksery powered filters; Facebook has acquired MSQRD, the recently popular filter app known for the growing face-swapping trend.

The actual sum for the acquisition is as of yet undisclosed, but presumably it's a huge discount to the $3billion Facebook was willing to offer up to snap Snapchat over two years ago.

I am curious to see how the face-swapping and filtering tech would be integrated in Facebook's ecosystem.

Well you do take pictures of yourself with the phone. Heavily Integrated with intrusive apps, and supported by manufactures. So your phone is pretty much a goldmine, it has your personal  and financial info, personal pictures, and worst, finger prints.
