Corsair H100i Pump noise.

My H100i has a really annoying pump noise, no particularly loud although at Idle it is the loudest thing in my system and the tone of it just really annoys me. Does anyone else have this issue. I'm thinking of moving to the H220x2 when more reviews become available. Anyone have the H220x2 and notice it has a loud pump with an annoying tone? Thanks guys.

I have the H100i GTX, it sometimes makes a faint flushing noise but it's usually air bubbles in the loop. It helps to move the hoses around a little bit to get rid of the air bubbles

When I upgraded CPU I gave the whole thing a good shake but it just seems like a real high pitched well... Pump sound.

Not really, it's nothing like the videos seen online. Just a constant kind of noise.

that's not really normal then.. try to see if your warranty is still valid/if you can turn it back in to Corsair

Costs £20 to ship the unit to corsairs RMA facility as it's in the Netherlands and I'd rather invest that into the £150 H220x2 ;).

They make you pay to ship it in for your warranty? That's crazy.

Yeah, if they make you pay to ship it and it'll probably be expensive to ship to the Netherlands, I would do the same thing.

Do you have the original H100i, not the GTX?

The CoolIT pump has a high pitch noise. Not very loud, but can be annoying.

I believe the H220X2 uses the same pump as the older H220X(yet to be confirmed). Which is a 3,000rpm PWM controlled pump. If you only run one radiator and a CPU block. You can set the pump at 1,800rpm. Under 2,000rpm, the Swiftech pump is very very quiet. Quieter than the Noctua NF-F12 at 750rpm.

However, if you want to add more components, like radiator and GPU block. You'll need to increase the pump speed. When it reaches 2,300-2,400. it'll become audible. At 3,000 rpm, it's quite noisy. You might be able to get away with 2,400-2,500rpm even if you only have two radiators, one CPU block and a GPU block, if they're too restrictive.

You sir are a god. That is literally the answer I was after! Don't really plan on expanding it and if I did I think I'd probably go full custom but currently don't have the funds or the time.

And yes I have the H100i, the GTX I believe has gone back to a AseTec design I believe so I guess quieter pump?

Are you talking about the pump? I don't think it is actually PWM controllable?
