I'm looking for any advice on my planned build. I have a budget of around £1200 and I live in England. I shall be using the system for mainly gaming with stuff like: Shadow of Mordor, Arma 3, Witcher 3, Far Cry Primal, Tom Clancys The Division. I will also be using it for web browsing and some CAD use but not a lot. I will be running only one monitor, and would like to be running the hard to run game (Shadow of Mordor) as close to 60fps on high/ ultra (:)) or medium (:().

  • Parts (Already Purchased):

CPU: Intel i5 6600K @4.4GHz (Already Purchased)

CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i GTX (Already Purchased)

Motherboard: Asus Z170-K ATX LGA1151 (Already Purchased)

RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 8gb (2x4gb) (Already Purchased)

I got these from scan.co.uk in a bundle

OS: Windows 10 (Already Purchased)

  • Parts (I'm planning on getting):

Storage: Samsung 850 EVO 250gb M.2-2280 SSD (Is this a good choice?)

GPU: Sapphire Radeon R9 390 8gb Nitro (I chose this over the GTX 970 as i shall not be overclocking)

Case: Phanteks Eclipse P400S ATX Mid Tower (2nd choice - Corsair Spec Alpha when it comes out)

PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA G2 550W 80+ Gold fully modular

Monitor: Asus VE247H 23.6" (This will be brought later so will not be included in budget)

Mouse: Logitech G302

Keyboard: Redragon USAS K553 Gaming Mechanical Keyboard

I will be upgrading in the future. To start with I will be doubling the RAM with another kit. After this I might be getting another GPU but will probably be pointless so might not as well. Storage will DEFIANTLY be increase with either a couple TB HDD (WD Black) or a few 500gb ish SSD's

Any advice on my parts/ changes that I should make to this would be much appreciated.

I personally have had great experience with the Samsung Series. I have an Samsung 840 Evo, and 850 Evo Pro. Love them both. My best friend has the Samsung M.2 Series chip (I think the Sm951 128GB), but he made it  and saved the 100$ to get some harddrives to store his games and to put his OS and some applications on the M.2. Seems though, the M.2 you found is cheaper than the SM951, so its up to you what you use that for. All in all, for SSD storage, i have 2 partions on mine. OS (100GB) and the rest is for 1 game I play most of the time, and I have 2 500GB hard drives spanned so I have room for the rest of my games.

Seems good to me, I like Scan but sometimes it can be a little bit more expensive, try checking Ebuyer and Overclockers before you buy any of the other parts. Ebuyer has great daily deals and storage drives generally tend to be a couple of quid cheaper on there. I've never had a AMD card so I couldn't really tell you how good that is but I have a i7 4790K and a GTX 980 and I play Arma 3 maxed out at 2560x1440 so the R9 390 shouldn't have any problems.

Anyways happy building and upload a photo when it's done. Show us what you've built :)

The M.2 will only be used for OS and programme files, then ill be adding storage later for non essential files and games files etc..

Thanks for the buying advice JamesKennedy97! I'll be sure to double check for the rest of my parts

I'll keep my eye out for the new GPU's!

There are better water coolers than the hydro H100i, but it still isn't bad... If you have another 10 bucks and a full tower, I think a Thermaltake Water 3.0 Ultimate would be a bit better. You can see it here. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835106241&cm_re=water_cooler-_-35-106-241-_-Product

I was looking at full towers but my desk isn't very big and full towers would take up most of the room so would have to go onto the carpet which would mean I would have to be careful with psu dust intake so from this I'm slightly leaning towards mid towers

I have a mid tower, but make sure you get one that has good cooling and has enough space to fit your water cooler radiator.
