Intel Stock Cooler Temps

rektrobin

I've just built my PC and I was wondering what's the average CPU temp with a stock Intel heatsink, I'm hovering around 45-48c is this considered normal for idle?

what processor are you using?

45~48 is slight higher for stock (on my i5 6600, 40~45)

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

I would say that's a bit warm for idle depending on your ambient temps. I would suggest to try remounting to see if you get lower temps be sure to turn the screw fully clockwise into the locked potion.

I'm using an i7-4770 (Non-K) I'm also looking at my temps through the Bios If that even matters.

well if it doesnt exceed 85~90 under load, i'd say its fine

idle temps doesnt really matter, its the load temps

Well i5s and i7s use heatsinks with copper built in while us regulars with i3s and below have aluminum heatsinks that aren't as good.

Here's some temps from my old Arctic Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 vs the Stock

You can't see it just by looking at it head on iirc
