Any CPU fan recommendations?

Hey guys,

I posted earlier about a cooler master cooler and some people suggested getting the h100i. After looking at some reviews it looks like a really great cooler. Right now its a little out of my price range because when I do get it I would like to upgrade the fans as well.

This is the build I am currently working on:

  • Intel Core i5-4670K Haswell 3.4GHz LGA 1150 84W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics BX80646I54670K
  • MSI Z87-G45 Gaming LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Pro Gaming with Killer Networking & Sound Blaster Intel Motherboard
  • MSI Gaming N760 TF 2GD5/OC GeForce GTX 760 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 SLI Support Video Card
  • NZXT Phantom 410 ATX Steel Computer Case
  • Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB 2.5in SATA3 LSI SandForce Solid State Disk Flash Drive
  • Western Digital WD Blue WD10EZEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive - OEM
  • G.SKILL Ripjaws X F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL 8GB 2X4GB DDR3-1600 CL9-9-9-24 Memory
  • Rosewill CAPSTONE-650-M 650W Continuous @ 50°C, Intel Haswell Ready, 80 PLUS GOLD, ATX12V v2.31 & EPS12V v2.92, SLI/CrossFire Ready, Modular Active PFC Power Supply
  • LITE-ON DVD Burner
  • Microsoft Windows 8 64-bit (Full Version) - OEM
  • ASUS PCE-N15 Wireless Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g/n PCI Express 300/300Mbps Transfer/Receive Rate 64-bit WEP, 128-bit WEP, WPA2-PSK, WPA-PSK, WPS support

Is there an air cooler that will perform well with this particular configuration? I'm not too worried about noise right now, I just want something that will let me keep my cpu cool and maybe allow some slight overclocking. I would prefer something in the $50 range but may be willing to go to $75 if it will be on par with the h100 or the h220 (currently sold out in Canada).

Thanks as always!

Hyper 212 EVO, the H100i is awesome also.

H220 is better though

I noticed the 212 EVO is only $30. Does it outperform those in the $50-75 range or is it just the best performance/price option?

Best for the price and beats multiple air coolers in the $50-75 range, not all of them though..

Might want to add a second fan to it.

And will it allow overclocking if needed?

Slight over clocking, not much. If you want to overclock get a H220

A second fan will get your 1-3C better temperatures.

Could be a big difference when OCing

H220 is the best (actually well known) closed loop liquid cooler.

There are like triple/quad radiators out there, but are like barely known.

(Btw if anyone knows a closed loop with that is like a triple/quad rad, TELL ME, i saw one before but forgot the brand)

Folding for LTT since April 2016.

Do you guys mean a second fan on the CPU cooler? I that something thats readily available or does it require modding?

There are wire clips provided for you to mount a second fan onto the CPU cooler itself.

I have my 8350 at 4.5GHz and I shit you not the temps get as low as 35C and never run higher than 70C and the fan never gets above 80% speed with the Hyper 212. I put my hand near the exhaust fan in the back of my case and the air isn't even warm. But I do have 3 intake and 2 exhaust fans but they are running in silent, low RPM mode.

I get 60 frames at 1080p on a dual core APU. Ask me how.
