Greetings,

So, I've had enough with Windows 10 on my GFs laptop (it came preinstalled on Lenovo B590) and I managed to access BIOS and select my bootable USB drive as primary boot option, but it still manages to skip it and log into existing windows.

Say I would use brute force and simply format my HDD - can I do it from inside windows and is it safe to say that computer will then use bootable USB as it is the only drive with information on it?

You cannot format drive which is used by current OS. If you can boot into any USB OS, you can do it from there. Or you can remove drive from laptop and format it with desktop PC.

As for booting, you still need to press any key to boot into USB. Just making it first boot priority isn't enough.

It just wont boot into USB where my W7 installation is...

What does that mean? Aren't you trying to format the drive that currently has W10 in it? Boot from USB on that machine, format drive and install the version you want.
