Hello! first of all, this is my first post on this forum. So i hope this is the right place to post it.

I've configured a new PC. But, there is one thing i can't determine, and that is what kind of RAM i should choose.

Here are the complete specs of the rig:

ASUS DVD Writer, DRW-24B5ST

ASUS GeForce GTX 780 3GB PhysX CUDA

ASUS Maximus VI Formula, Socket-1150

Corsair AX 860i, 860W PSU

Intel Core i7-4770K Processor

Microsoft Windows 8 Pro

Corsair H100i Hydro Series

Samsung SSD 840 EVO 250GB BK OEM

When i comes to RAM, i complete green. First time building an Intel-rig. One other thing, i can't buy from any other sites than my home country. (Norway)

So i can choose from Corsair,Kingston, and Crucial. Since i gonna buy from the same site. So, all i want is, to know what RAM i should choose.

I am gonna play mostly games, record, edit, etc.

860i is overkill, get the 760i instead. For ram, all you really need is 16GB since you are going to be editing. I'd recommend any 16GB kit such as this

Btw, great build, hope you enjoy it :D

Okey! Thanks for so fast reply!

Yeah, 860i is maybe overkill. So gonna change that to an 760i..

So CMY16GX3M2A1600C9R would be more than enough?

I was thinking about CMD16GX3M2A1600C9, but i guess those are overkill aswell?

They will perform exactly the same.

Brand does not affect performance. All CL9 1600 ram will perform exactly the same.

Vengeance Pros and Dominator Platinums are a waste of money. Get some cheaper ram.

Same deal with your mobo. Any z87 mobo will perform the same--just get the features you want.

You need to quote a post or tag a member or else they won't get a notification you replied to them.

You only have a ssd for storage? Why no mass storage?

Get the AX860i or another 850W PSU...750W doesn't leave much headroom for a second 780. If you don't want to SLI in the future, a nice gold fully modular 650W PSU (Seasonic G series 650W) will do. RAM: 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance Pro 1600mhz CL9(red). I understand why you want that board - it's so sexy! Also you need a case - I was thinking about Corsair 650D.

My rig: CPU: Intel core i5 4670K MoBo: MSI Z87-G45 Gaming RAM: Kingston HyperX Beast 2x4GB 1600mhz CL9 GPU: EVGA GTX780 SC ACX SSD: ADATA Premier Pro SP900 256GBHDD: Western Digital RED 2TB PSU: FSP Aurum CM 750W Case: Cooler Master HAF XM OS: Windows 8 Pro

Corsair link is just a gimmick imo ._.

If you're not running sli, you should really get a cheaper mobo.

No point paying so much for features you won't use.

Okey! I have looking at these: CMY16GX3M2A2400C11R. They are actually cheaper than 1600 Mhz here in norway.

The plan is not to start out with SLi, but i might later. If i see that i need more.

Like I said Vengeance Pros are more expensive than they need to be. You can get cheaper ram.

The ram you chose is CL11. That's why it's cheaper. You want CL9.

Okey, so for my use, i would not go for 2400 Mhz RAM? Yeah, i want CL9. Not CL11.

I've seen at some other kit's.

These is what i have been looking at latley:

CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9

CMZ16GX3M4A2400C10

CMY16GX3M2A1600C9R

KHX1600C9D3K4/16GX

CML16GX3M4A1600C9

CMY16GX3M2A2400C10R, these is the one's i found REALLY cheap here i Noeway. And these are CL9, and 2400 Mhz, should i go for these?

CMY16GX3M2A2400C10R, these is the one's i found REALLY cheap here i Norway. And these are CL10, and 2400 Mhz, should i go for these?

Should i go for bandwidth, or cas latency? I find this really hard to choose. Feeling like i'm a complete noob.

You won't gain any performance boost from going any higher than 1600, No point paying more for 2400.

Just go CL9 1600. You won't benefit from higher speeds but you don't want high latency.

Okey, then i know what to get. I found a site here in norway that sells the Vengeance Pro really cheap. (CMY16GX3M2A1600C9R)

Cheaper than any other ram, i've found. 168 USD! I think that's fair?

A norwegian site. Multicom it's called. I have some discount on that site. It's 210 USD without the discount, with it's 168,98 USD.

I have converted the price from NOK to USD

Don't convert currencies. What's the actual price in NOK?

Lagerstatus:

Ingen på lager for øyeblikket

Means: Out of stock.

But according to the site, o G.skill they are optimized for X79 platform?
It's that i don't understand, why do they state that those you linked to are optimized for Intel P55, Intel X48, Intel P45, Intel P35.. That's the thing i don't really understand.

But thanks for showing me that they sell G.Skill!
