Is it mounted properly? Do you have thermal paste applied if it was removed previously?

My Intel I5 4690k was running quite hot when i was using Aida64 running a system stability test even though I had not Overclocked it. it was running at 99C on core #0 and 86 on core #3 that seems really high are these numbers safe? and if they are not why would a PC manufacturer build a PC with insufficient CPU cooling?

I have an Anet A8 as my project printer and a i3 MK3 for when I want things to work.

I extrude my own filament and haven't saved a penny yet.

as long as it's stable and doesn't throttle there isn't anything dangerous about it.

Cooler might just be inproperly seated on the CPU?

Tried changing thermal paste?

And most PC manufacturers dont expect their customers to check CPU tempratures.

Ok i dont have any thermal paste right now I am thinking of getting a new cooler soon so I can OC my cpu ill try looking at the cpu cooler and making sure it is seated properly (it is the stock cooler if that helps).

99C on a core should not be happening. Continuously running at that temperature will cause unnecessary degradation.

that was during a stress test. Define your meaning of continuously.

Also degradation is almost meaningless at this point.

And you think 1 degree away from TJ Max is okay? For stock? Even with a stock cooler, that is unacceptable.

Continuously meaning 24/7, and during any kind of high load(like GTA 5 for example), the CPU will be running very hot, and if the user is playing for say two hours - not super great for the CPU.

I think the program he uses to measure temps is bullshitting since 99 on one core 86 on another doesn't add up.

Also CPU's can handle themselves these days, if it doesn't throttle it's okay.

I have seen CPU temperatures have major differences between cores.

Sorry, but 1 degree away from TJ Max is not okay, especially at a stock frequency. You can stick to your opinion. I will stick to mine.

Check for excessive amounts of dust within your cooler's heatsink, and like the other guys have said, check that it is seated properly and screwed down tight :) If the problem persists, try applying new thermal paste, if that doesn't work, something is wrong!

Well, since you removed the cooler, you will need to put on new paste anyways.

The orientation of the label does not matter.
