No point choosing the parts now if you're doing this next year, start looking at parts a few weeks before you buy them.

IMO you should go with an AMD GPU and 8 GB RAM if that is your budget. That will save you a lot of money.

I get 60 frames at 1080p on a dual core APU. Ask me how.

Looks like a nice build, anyways a good quality 500w should do plenty, if you can get it for cheaper then the cx 600. However, i think you should not make your list some time before you are buying the parts, so wait until you are ready to build, amd might have some good stuff coming with the 9xxx series.

Looks like a really well balanced build, all I would do would be to add a hyper 212 Evo or similar an than overclock a little bit.

He gave us the URL not the permalink, what you were looking at was your own build :P

I made a 700 dollar rig about a year ago.
What you listed is practically my rig, except I got the 4170 instead of the 6300, because I didn't know much about processors when I got it, also I got a GTX480, and I love it. I can play Planetside relatively well, Dishonored / Bioshock / Metro 2033 maxed out at 60fps. Crysis 3 is a bit of a stretch at times, but still very-playable.

The original list had more graphics power, a nicer case, more CPU power, a better RAM configuration, no high-end heatsink (unnecessary for budget builds), and more storage (HDD over SSD in budget builds).

Good for you. I put together in 5mins soo..... whatever. Heatsink is for the great overclocks on amd. Better RAM config? more CPU power? if you didnt know an SSD is faster. And for a gaming PC you dont need that much room.

Why would you suggest it over OP's list if his is better? Better RAM config- dual channel which offers double the bandwidth. More CPU power- a 6800K is essentially an FX-4300 with onboard graphics. A 6300 has 2 more cores, offering better performance. I definitely realize SSDs are faster than hard drives, if you read my signature you'd realize I have an SSD that is very similar to the one you suggested. I disagree with your point about gamers not needing capacitous storage, however, as my 120GB SSD has only my OS and programs which totals 100GB. My movies, music, and games go on my hard drive and total 400GB. My Steam games alone take up 225 GB.
