Hey guys, I've got an odd issue here with a computer I ordered from CyberPowerPC in November. It isn't an issue with how it runs, but how they set up the cables in the back of the computer. Yesterday I went to go uninstall the water cooler that originally came with it (Asetek 550lc in push-pull) to put in an h110i I just ordered, and when I went to go remove the fans on it, I saw that the cable went into the back of the computer. I traced the cable until I found the 3 pin connector, and then I saw something very odd -- red and black cables coming from under the connector into a black thing which went into another and then into another. I'm just trying to figure out what the hell Cyberpowerpc did to it so I can get it fixed and eventually remove the fans and the 550lc. Here's some pictures of it that can better show what I mean by the red and black cables, and I also apologize for calling a few items 'things' as my computer knowledge isn't up to par with the rest of the people on this forum.

My buddy who knows a fair bit about computers took a look at these photos and told me he thinks Cyberpower somehow 'interconnected' the fans with other parts of the computer, if that means anything to you guys,

Thanks for any assistance you guys can provide.

you'll be fine

remove the old asetek

and install H110 plugging the pump and fans to mobo cpu fan headers

The fans are being plugged directly into the power supply with that setup. The red/black wires connect the 12V and ground from the molex connector to the fan connector.

Adding to @Glenwing's comment...

The fans (or the water pump) are wired this way, causing them to run at full speed constantly.

Thanks for your response. Is there any easy way to reverse this setup somewhat easily, or should I bring it in to the geek squad or a computer store?

It looks like you should be able to plug the fans into a normal fan header. Just make sure the extra molex connector chained off of it isn't connected to anything, and the computer won't know it's even there.

The fan cables from the 550lc in push pull are the brown cables that have the red and black wires inside the 3 pin connector that go to the molex connector. I'm trying to remove these fans, so should I just remove the white molex connector entirely off with the fan? It looks like the black thing one of the connectors are connected to goes to the LED controller, and the other one goes somewhere onto the motherboard after being connected to the other black thing. Let me know if what I said is confusing, because I honestly even don't know what I'm trying to say.

If the fans have LEDs on them it's possible the molex is just there to supplement power for the LEDs... Honestly it's difficult to know what's going on without being there. But if you want to remove the fans entirely, I don't think you'll mess anything else in the system up by unplugging them completely.

I'll try that I guess. If something goes wrong, I'll just take it in to my local computer store to see if they can do anything about it. Thanks for helping me understand better what's going on here, and for the quick replies!
